Chose Seneca because she wanted a high-quality education. It is the largest college in Canada and had a reputation as an excellent school with a very good accounting program.

Advanced Standing or Prior Learning Assessment


Many students who enter Seneca will have earned academic credits in post secondary educational institutions which they may be able to apply toward completion of a Seneca certificate, diploma or degree. Students who have completed post secondary education outside of Canada, must first have their credentials assessed through WES Education Services ( www.wes.org/ca), 2 Carlton Street, Ste 1400, Toronto, M5B 1J3 (Yonge & Carlton) prior to submitting their request for advanced standing at Seneca. Students who have completed post secondary education outside of Canada, and are applying for advanced standing in accounting subjects , must first have their courses assessed by CGA Ontario ( www.cga-ontario.org), 240 Eglinton Avenue East, Toronto, M4P 1K8.

Application for Advanced Standing or Prior Learning Assessment


Requests for advanced standing must be for a specific subject in a specific semester. It is the policy of Seneca that all applications for advanced standing will be considered by the School responsible for the subject. Criteria for the granting of advanced standing will be published by each School.
A minimum grade of "C" (60%) is generally required for a subject to be considered for advanced standing. For applied degree programs, the minimum grade considered for Advanced Standing is C+ (65%).
Request Forms for advanced standing should be made as early as possible before the beginning of the semester to which they apply and no later than two weeks after the beginning of the semester.
Advanced standing will NOT be considered unless an official transcript and subject descriptions are attached to your request.
